Have you & spouse ever been to those time share pitches just for the free gifts?
Tell your story. What was the pitch for? What did you get? Did you fall for them or reject it?
My story: Wife and I went to Gatlinburg, TN., got two nights in a motel, dinner out, and a $100 visa voucher at an outlet just for listening to Windham Resorts blab for an hour.
The announcement makes it look as though you will get something valuable for nothing. But that is not true. You will have to earn it by sitting through a long sales pitch, often of more than two hours, and frequently using high pressure tactics. For that, you will earn the cheapest of the "gifts" listed.
We reject them every time. We have gotten gift cards, nights at hotels, and once even a cruise (that we did not go on because the boat looked like it was about to sink). Back when we were younger and poorer we did them all of the time.

We went to one locally for a chance to win free cash or a TV. We ended up winning one of their BS cruises, which is just a way to trap you on a boat to get stuck in another time share sales pitch. We usually go to a time share thingy each time we visit las vegas because they give free show tickets and free gaming chips (which we cash in anyway). We never buy or get sucked in. My philosophy: if the deal is that good, I would be coming to them to get it rather than them persuading me with gifts and tricky sales tactics.

My ex should look into this scheme.

We went on one in Vegas. Spent a couple of hours in the middle of the day touring a beautiful condo bldg. that we could never afford, then got free show and dinner tickets for that night.
