What are good gift ideas for my friends wedding, and do I need to get 3 gifts?

I am invited to the bridal shower, the bachelorette party, and of course the wedding. What are some good gift ideas, and do I have to have a gift for the shower and the wedding? I know a gift for the bachelorette party is optional, but would still like some suggestions! Thank you!

For the bridal shower, buy some off her registry.

For the bachelorette party, buy her lingerie.

For the wedding, give money.

Most people will tell you to get a smaller gift for the shower and a larger gift for the wedding. Personally, I get 1 large gift and that’s it. I spend the same amount of money regardless.

The women who came to my Bridal shower did not get me a 2nd gift for the wedding.

Gifts are not required at a Bachelorette Party, unless specifically stated. Sometimes girls will do lingerie gifts, but not always.

you have to bring a shower gift, because the bride will open it in front of everyone. so no cash or checks. find out what store she’s registered at. you don’t have to bring a gift for the bachelorette unless it’s a theme party like lingerie. you may be asked to chip in for the cost of the bachelorette tho but mostly the bridesmaids pay for it. and yes you have to bring a wedding gift, most people give cash or checks.

The only parties which require gifts are showers and small children’s birthday parties. What is required from wedding guests is a handwritten message saying thank you for the party and mentioning something you enjoyed about the party. If you wish, you may send a thank you gift along with or instead of the written message. Usually it’s best to send a wedding gift either before the wedding or after the honeymoon. When people bring gifts to the wedding, then hosts are burdened with securing the gifts from theft, keeping track of who gave which, and freighting the cargo home.

Most couples love getting cash, checks, and gift cards, or have a registry of household items. Call and ask someone what sort of gift the couple would most appreciate.

I’ve been in 6 weddings and am pretty much a pro at this point. I’ve never had to bring a gift for the bachelorette party, but all the bridesmaid usually pitch in for the bride-to-be’s dinner and a drink or two each afterwards if you want. I agree with the above response to definitely bring a gift to the shower, thats when all eyes are on you. My staple thing that I always do is something personalized. I spend less money but my gift looks even cooler since I went the extra step! For my religions friends, I always do the momogramed "Family Bible" their very first bible as a family. (ie: the bottom right handside will say "The Smith Family" or John & Jane Smith")
For my less religious friends, I’ve gotten towels (that they registered for) monogramed.
For the wedding, if I’m in in I get something…if not then nothing…you’ll be fine, they can’t expect you to spend to much.
    Hope this helps

I’d only worry about the bridal shower… in fact, you could get her some reasonably nice jewelry and maybe she’ll even wear it for the wedding! I did that with a friend of mine who was getting married and she totally wore it at the wedding, so it seemed like I double gifted ;) My favorite places are listed below in the sources, check ‘em out :)
